Newspaper articles, extracts and copies from Foreign Office and War Office files relating to the detention of 14 British POWs in Soviet prisons and their treatment by the NKVD. They had escaped from German prisoner of war camps during 1940 and were released from Soviet prison in 1941 after the German invasion of Russia. The men were awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal, but were asked not to discuss their treatment.

Copy of 'No Citation' by James Allan, published by Angus and Robertson, London and Sydney 1955, chronicle of his escape to the Soviet Union from German prisoner of war camps. ( 2 copies).
