Correspondence regarding Solzhenitsyn's claim he did not give permission for the Slovak journalist Pavel Licko to give the manuscript for 'Cancer Ward' to Nicholas Bethell and therefore that its subsequent translation by Bethell and publication by Bodley Head was without his agreement. Includes the letter dated 28 April 1975 sent by Solzhenitsyn to Bethell in which he accuses him of this (also translation).

Correspondence with Bodley Head and others regarding the claim. Written explanation by Bethell of the circumstances surrounding the publication of the manuscript.
