Folder 3: Correspondence relating to the UK publication of "The Joy of Sex". Primarily between Comfort and the UK publishers Mitchell Beazley, plus his US and Canadian publishers. Mentions the reception of the book in the USA and plans to publish in Canada.
Folder 4: Two sets of correspondence relating to the reception of "The Joy of Sex". 1) letters (1973) between Alex Comfort and David Holbrook debating Comforts's writings and views of sex in general and Joy of Sex in particular from a psychological and sociological standpoint. 2) A letter (1975) from a reader, June Adams, criticising The Joy of Sex from a feminist perspective, and a copy of a letter in response from Jane Comfort defending the book and explaining in detail her involvement in its production.
