Description | Papers regarding activities at Kenwood for school groups based upon the lives of Lady Elizabeth Murray, the niece of Lord Mansfield, and Dido Elizabeth Belle, who was born in the West Indies who was believed to be Lord Mansfield's illegitimate great-niece, who both lived at Kenwood. When the activity was initially held in Jan 1982 and examined depiction of children in other paintings at the house, but when it was repeated in Oct 1983 it also looked at slavery in the 18th century. Includes papers relating to both projects, including correspondence; press cuttings; report by Adams on the repeat of the course; programmes; and worksheets. |
