Description | Papers regarding summer activities at Ranger's House in 1986, based upon the life of the house's former owner General Wolseley who had been involved in the relief expedition down the Nile to Khartoum by General Gordon in 1885, and a visit to the National Army Museum; visit by military musicians; military drill exercises; and a visit of a live camel from Longleat House. This was the first project to be funded English Heritage who had recently taken responsibility of the former GLC historic houses. Includes programmes; music scores; correspondence; planning notes; notes regarding the film of the activities; extracts from a diary by Wolseley's barber; press release; colour photographic slides of activities taken by Annie Gelly. Also includes some papers regarding a ILEA course 'Exploring the Educational Resources of the National Army Museum' which was run by Gene Adams. |
