Description<p>Manuscript notes in three parts, annotated "The Lichfield Edition":</p>
<li>"Part 1st. A plan of a navigable canal intended for a communication between ye ports of Hull and Liverpool", 9 ff, with enclosed manuscript notes regarding the plan (1 ff).</li>
<li>"Part ye second. General advantages of inland navigation", 14 ff. Enclosed at the back of the notebook is an agreement between Erasmus Darwin and William Rowley regarding posts and rails in Burrow-copp and Mordlin's Well, dated May 9 [17]63.</li>
<li>"Part the third. Advantages of the designed canal", 19 ff with shield illustration on the cover.</li>
