DescriptionLetters from H B Simpson of the Home Office, who was secretary to a committee appointed to consider whether anything could be done to improve upon methods of identifying "habitual criminals". The Committee were interested in Galton's fingerprint techniques and arranged to meet with him and to tour the Anthropometric Laboratory. Also makes reference to a visit to Pentonville Prison by Galton and the Committee. Letter of 13 December 1893 encloses notes by Galton on questions posed to him by the Committee.
