Herschel has pleasure in sending this book. Stated that Galton had asked him to write a complete account of his work in Bengal but he had always felt there was enough material until now. Inscribed by Herschel on the front free endpaper: "To the Trustees of Sir Francis Galton's Laboratory, London University College from the Author 14 Oct 1916". Also pasted into the book between pages 8 and 9 is a letter in red ink from the Royal Society thanking an unnamed recipient for the loan of this book. |
