Henri (Aaron) de Solla, born Amsterdam, son of Jacob and Adelaide de Solla, theatrical singers, 1838; came to England c1841; chorister, Margaret Street Synagogue; musician, teacher of choirs and composer; married Hannah Jacobs, 1873; seven children; choirmaster, Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue; organist and choir instructor, Brixton Synagogue; choirmaster, Great Synagogue, c1879-1902; died London, 1904. Some of his compositions were included in 'The Voice of Prayer and Praise' ed. Francis Cohen and D. M. Davis; his secular music was performed but not published. Hannah de Solla, born London, daugher of Moses Jacobs, fruiterer, c1853; died Christchurch, Sussex, 1910.
