Description | A draft, typescript essay of events from Moses Gaster's life, entitled 'Reminiscences', which he dictated for his secretary to type out. This text covers his relationship with Weitzmann, the Jewish Chronicle, Herzl, Zionism, and his time in London, Vienna, Romania, and 'Breslau' [Wroclaw, Poland].
Following his death, Gaster's daughter Bertha summarised this essay as having the following sections, in her words:
- 'The Question of the Arabs' [i.e. what would happen to the inhabitants of Palestine in a potential future Jewish state]; - 'Zionism - a Thing of the Past'; - 'Gypsy Contacts'; - 'On Being a Rabbi'; - 'Gaster's Attitude to People'; - 'Mr Nathan's Advice'; - What Makes Three'.
