| Description | Some of Moses Gaster's papers from his time as Principal of Judith Lady Montefiore College, mainly regarding the 'Ramsgate College Affair' where two of Gaster's students were accused of 'immoral conduct' (casual sexual relations with a woman, and eating non-kosher food). These papers include:
- correspondence between senior people involved with the College;
- printed circulars to the Spanish and Portuguese Jews' Congregation regarding developments in the case;
- a printed booklet entitled 'Report of the Special Committee Appointed by the Elders';
- a printed booklet entitled 'Observations of Rev. Dr. Gaster on the Report of the Special Committee';
- witness statements;
- printed minutes of a meeting of Yehidim of the Spanish and Portuguese Congregation;
- a press cutting, reporting that a student who gave a witness statement in the case had committed suicide.
