DescriptionSeries of 26 typewritten road reports written by Colonel Giles on routes in Montenegro, Albania, Croatia and Slovenia and three road reports on routes in Greece.

The reports include distance, altitude, steepness, width and condition of roads, and includes descriptions of bridges (with approximate bearing weights), time taken for the journey and car or vehicle and map used. Giles also gives brief historical descriptions of the towns, villages and other places passed through, as well as alternative means of transport eg trains, and other points of military or geographical significance.

There is also a map of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (Yugoslavia) showing army and divisional areas, which can be used in reference with the written road reports. The road routes followed are drawn upon the map and there is a key. Some of the reconnaissances were carried out by Captain Parker RE.
