It is unclear why they were torn up, but at some point someone has sorted the fragments into matching bundles, so that it is possible to reassemble the letters. The documents in this file mainly seem to be handwritten letters from people whose surname begins with 'W', particularly a person called Elizabeth Wilcox. This file also includes a number of torn printed proceedings from meetings of the Royal Institute of British Architects. |
