Title | Letter from Jean François De Luc, in Amsterdam to his father Jean André De Luc, in The Hague |
Date | 11 Dec 1779 |
Description | Explaining to his father that he seems to have inherited his brother's tendency towards depression. Jean François mentions that being alone in Amsterdam has made things worse form this point of view, but he admits having suffered already from it during his studies. It is probably for this reason that he had not achieved as much as he would have liked. He also mentions that he will start taking two lessons a week of Dutch so that he can interact more with his colleagues. |
