Title | Letter from Jean François De Luc, in Amsterdam to his father Jean André De Luc, in London |
Date | 7 Sep 1780 |
Description | Explaining that he was no longer living with the widow Cramer but had moved closer to his friends. He now lived at his friend Rémi's old place. Jean François reports that it was a room in a house owned by an elderly couple, where all the other tenants spoke either German or Dutch. Since his German was poor, Jean François believed that moving would enable him to improve his Dutch further. He did not think that his friendship with Vandyk would suffer from not living together any longer. |
