TitleLetter from Jean François De Luc, in Amsterdam to his father Jean André De Luc, in London
Date29 Jan 1781
DescriptionTalking at length about the business during the current conflict between England and Holland, presumably the Fourth Anglo-Dutch War. Jean François mentions that he thought about taking a special interest in the trade with St Eustache, but there was a strong possibility that the territory would not be a Dutch colony for much longer. Finally, he transcribes an extract from a letter he had received from his friend Mr Lefore, recounting his recent trip throughout the Alps.
