TitleJean François Bourgeois
Date30 Mar 1816
DescriptionJean François Bourgeois, a 62 year old man, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born in Vignacourt, near Amiens in Picardy but came to England to avoid persecution. He has been a member of the French Church of the Artillery and of London for the previous forty years. He is paralysed on the left hand side of his body and has spent several weeks at St Thomas' Hospital. He has now been discharged into his sister's care who unfortunately cannot look after him. A note in a different hand, signed by Jean Quentin Lebez, states that he has known Jean François Bourgeois since 1764 and he has always lead a life beyond reproach. The petition is also signed by Louis Amédée Anspach, Pastor of the French Church of London and John Daussy.
