TitleMarie Martin, née Asemat
Date25 Jun 1816
DescriptionMarie Martin, a 56 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born in London, but her late father, David Asemat, was originally from Languedoc. Marie works in the silk industry and is a member of the French Church of London. She suffers from asthma and has poor eyesight so cannot work enough to be financially independent. A note in a different hand signed by Louis Amédée Anspach, Pastor of the French Church of London, states that Marie's husband had died about seventeen years previously leaving her with four children, the eldest of which was only seven. Marie had to work so hard to bring up her children that her health suffered from it. The petition is also signed by Jaques Mousset and George Perrot.
