TitleLouise Say's petition
Date16 Mar 1823
DescriptionLouise Say, a 51 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born in London, lives in Islington and is a member of the French Church of St Jean. Her parents are Jean Noel Say and Susanne Marguerite Chauvet. She had been an employee of the Hospital for four years and was then employed by Minister Compton for three years. She is now too unwell to be able to keep working enough hours to be financially independent. A note at the end by J L Chirol, Pastor of the French Church of St Jean, states that the contents of the petition are true but since he had not seen Louise for several years he could not make any judgement as to her conduct. He mentions that whilst she was working at the Hospital he never had any cause for concern as to her behaviour. The petition is also signed by Gervais Baucher, Elder at the Church of St Jean; J Delamare, Elder; Jaques Delamare, Elder and Louise Say herself.
