Description | Louis Foucher, a 66 year old man, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 29 December 1782. His parents were Jacques Fouchet and Marie Anne Galant, or Jallant. Both parents were members of the French Church, but the name of the exact church is not given. Louis Foucher's father died at the French Hospital and his own parents, Louis André and Marie Jeanne, were members of the French Church of L'Artillerie. Louis attended the Westminster French Protestant School. He is a weaver but can no longer work due to poor eyesight and age-related conditions. The petition is signed by Louis Foucher himself and James P Mousset. At the back, a note states that the petitioner was recommended by Rev Mercier to the Directors of the Westminster French Protestant School on 9 January 1790. Furthermore, the petitioner's maternal grandfather's property was confiscated and he was imprisoned in Silesia due to his religion. Petition n. 1269. |
