| Description | Elizabeth Jones, a 74 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born on 15 March 1775. Her parents were Thomas Jones and Hester Delmar. The latter was of Huguenot descent being the daughter of Jean derno Court [Dernocourt?] and Marie Delmar. Elizabeth is a weaver but can no longer work due to suffering from age-related conditions. The petition bears Elizabeth Jones' mark and is signed by Mrs Weaver.
At the back, a note states that the petitioner had learned from her mother that her grandparents had to flee France to avoid religious persecution. They had settled in Canterbury but had died when Hester was still very young.
