Description | This book was apparently opened in 1850, but bound in at the beginning are pp. 151-162 removed from a Register of Petitions for admission to the Hospital (H/D/1/3). These pages, to which there is an index up to 1850 on the fly-leaf of H/D/1/3, contain: an extract from Stephen Mounier's will; the report (in French) of a special committee on the Mounier fund, copied from the Court minutes of 5 October 1816; accounts of the fund, 1817-1850; a register of apprentices 1816-1832, giving the name of Director nominating, name of master, and premium paid; and list of apprentices 1832-1879, giving only surnames of apprentices and masters, with premiums. The record continues with printed column headings in the new book, from 1872 to 1941, giving date of nomination, Director nominating, name, parentage and address of apprentice, name, address and trade of master. The latter part of the book is blank. Found loose in book: printed application form (adopted 1888) and three apprenticeship indenture forms (one on parchment, two on paper), one lithographed, one printed, 19th century. |
