DescriptionContemporary English version of the terms of the Treaty of Greenwich between the King of France, Henry IV, and the Queen of England, Elizabeth I, in May 1596.
The 'league' between France and England was for an offensive and defensive alliance against Spain, providing for the invasion of Spain by a joint army from the two countries and any other states which might agree to join the confederation.
