| Description | A heading in French, on the first page, introduces 'a list of members who have belonged to this Company, so far as I have been able to collect them, with the number of weeks they have drawn for sickness'. There follows a numbered list of 285 members, of whom 161 (including two dated 1703) were entered in the same handwriting up to 1787, the rest being added later in other hands up to 1849. A note at the end of the list refers to a resolution passed on 26 May 1788 that a record should be kept of each member's claims. There follows a ledger with a page for each claimant, showing the dates of claims and number of weeks claimed from 1754 to 1851. Pages are numbered 1 to 146, but 8 pages near the beginning are unnumbered. A later list of names at the end gives references to the page numbers. |
