The last meeting of the Delegacy was held in 1948. At this point an new, enlarged University of London Institute of Education incorporating the internal function as a teacher training institution and the external function, overseeing the training of teachers in London and the South East was introduced. The records covering this period of the Institute's history (1949-1987) are catalogued at IE/2.
