Copies of various official publications including: Military Training Bill, blank forms
Details and correspondence regarding the application of the National Service Acts with reference to the call up of female students. With a list of female students who entered the Institute Michaelmas term 1942 and were entitled to remain in education under arrangements with the Ministry of Labour and National Service and the Board of Education
Appeals (with decisions) to the Military Service (Hardship) committees with information of students (no names) from around the UK who were considered by the committee. Under the National Service (Armed Forces) Act individuals could apply to the committee for postponement of military service, if they experience 'exceptional hardship' if they were called up for service
Details on male teachers and National Service including a list of male students aged 20 or 21 years
