AdminHistory | The courses sub-committee appear to have originally reported to the Committee on Facilities for Practising Teachers (FPT) and as responsible for discussing the content of courses provided by the Teachers Centre and proposal for courses submitted by the departments presumably so they could be reported to the FPT. The Committee(s) comprised members of the central Institute and representatives from constituent colleges and only met once a year in February to approve the courses for the next year. The committee continued after the closure of the FPT in 1978 and appears to have been split into several panels who examined early years, middle years and secondary education who reported to the appropriate panel of the Standing Committee of Education. In 1980 the work of the committee was taken over by the In-Service Sub-Board which reported to the Central Academic Board. |
