Description | Papers relating to the Institute of Education’s links with Malaysia, mainly in the form of bespoke short courses for education officers and inspectors from Malaysia. These papers include:
- Correspondence, programmes and briefings regarding a short course on “School Effectiveness” that the Institute delivered for a group of visiting principals of Malaysian secondary schools. - News cuttings on “school effectiveness”, including issue No. 2 of the Institute’s ‘Viewpoint’ newsletter (June 1995), and the Summer 1994 edition of the School Improvement Network’s bulletin ‘Research Matters’. - A leaflet for an intensive short course at the Institute on Educational Management Information Systems (EMIS). - A proposal for a joint research project on “school improvement”. - Formal notes from a meeting with visiting delegates from Malaysia. - Two ring-bound prospectuses to be distributed during a March 1981 visit to Malaysia and a September 1981 visit to East Malaysia, by staff of the Institute of Education. These prospectuses include a section of general information about the Institute, a section giving details of courses at the Institute "of special interest to Malaysia", and a section giving details of recent Malaysian students at the Institute. - An internal Institute report on a March 1981 visit to Malaysia, and another report from a subsequent visit in 1982. - An internal Institute report on a visit to "South East Asia", September 1981 (37 pages). The visit covered Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Thailand. |
