AdminHistory | In April 1925 it was decided that an advisory committee should be formed to assist the Librarian. [The Library Committee did not meet between 1940 and Oct 1944.]
Under the new ATO structure, a Sub-Committee on Library Policy was appointed by the Central Academic Board to control the academic policy of the library and to act as a liaison between the general academic staff and the librarian. It took an interest in general library policy, the allocation of resources, the types of books and periodicals purchased and the distribution between subjects.
1972-1978 there ran alongside the 'central' Library Committee an Area Library Policy Committee (also a sub-committee of the Academic Board) which dealt with issues relating to the ATO colleges and their libraries.
1963 - set up small sub-committee to 'look after the interests' of the new Textbook Library. 1973 - sub-committee on Teaching Aids Centre
1981: Library Sub-Committee terminated and replaced by the new Library and Resources Committee.
In 1984, the Library and Resources Committee was replaced by a new Resources Committee which considered all aspects of resourcing for the Institute, including the Library.
The Resources Committee had a Library Sub-Committee, which comprised:
4 members of academic staff 1 member of administrative staff 1 member of research staff 2 students Librarian Deputy Librarian Schoolbooks Librarian 3 other members of Library staff
The LAMS Committee replaced the Library Sub-Committee in 1991 as part of an administrative restructure at the Institute. It was replaced by the Information Services Policy Committee in 1994.
