AdminHistoryIn 1941 the Ministry of Information asked, Professor F Clarke, the Institute's Director to obtain a comprehensive collection of material on current problems of education in the UK for the British Library of Information in New York. The Librarian, Geraldine de Montmorency, contacted schools, County Councils, Borough Councils, educational associations and companies to ask them to send relevant publications and to comment on how they are contributing to the war effort and/or how the war is affecting their ability to provide education. The publications were then indexed and sent to New York.
