| AdminHistory | The Department was established in 1982 with the merge of the Mathematics Department and the Department of Statistics and Computing. The department contributed to initial teacher training courses but the main aim was to encourage effective co-operation with practicing teachers of the different disciplines and to respond to needs of teachers after the expansion of computing capabilities in schools. The Department was also responsible for the Institute's computing services. The department also housed the London Regional Centre for Teaching Statistics in Schools |
