Includes a a letter from Lilly, 3 November 1993, to all participants of the Framework IV Biochemical Engineering Group enclosing a note on 'Area No. 1 Biotechnology 1.1 Cell Factories' setting out the 'Objective', 'Implementation' and 'Research tasks'.
On 16 November Lilly and a Dutch colleague Hans Tramper visited Brussels to have further discussions on Biochemical Engineering in Framework IV.
Lilly coordinated European biochemical engineering science in the Framework IV Programme. The biochemical engineering science Framework IV programme encapsulated the concept of biocatalyst-based factory process under the title 'Cell Factory'. |
