AdminHistory | The Summerhill School is a progressive, co-educational, residential school, founded by A. S. Neill in 1921, as a place where children could discover who they are and where their interests lay in a self-governing, democratic community. All lessons are optional and the Laws of the School are made or changed by majority vote in the community meetings featuring pupils and staff.
The A.S.Neill Summerhill Trust was created to raise funds for assisted places so that a wider range of pupils could be educated at Summerhill and maintain the School. The Trust also promotes the work of A. S. Neill and the practices of Summerhill School. |
