AdminHistoryWilliam Coulson (1802-1877) was an English surgeon. He studied medicine at Penzance, London, Paris and Berlin. He achieved a high reputation as a hospital surgeon, as a writer on medical subjects and as a general practicioner.

Thomas Coulson (1791-1813) was an amanuensis to Jeremy Bentham. In 1810, he was appointed to the Navy Office through the influence of Jeremy's brother, Samuel, then Inspector General of Navy Works.

Walter Coulson (1795-1860) was an English newspaper editor, barrister, writer and associate of Jeremy Bentham. Succeeded his brother as Bentham's amanuensis and then became a parliamentary reporter. In 1823 he was appointed editor of the Globe-Traveller. He later read for the bar and eventually gave up journalism to specialise in conveyancing and chancery law. He was appointed a Home Office counsel or parliamentary draughtsman. He was Recorder of Penzance 1836-1838, Treasurer of Gray's Inn 1853 and one of the commissioners for the 1851 Exhibition.
