| Description | 5 magazines titled 'Harif-Bei-Clown: Literature, love, politics & comedy journal No.1 - No.4' created by Nicholas Hans, these are hand written and contain drawings. These are numbered 1 through 4 and there is a 5th one which has no front cover. Numbers 1 - 4 have a handmade front cover and have been bound with tape. These were written during Hans' time in Istanbul while waiting to emigrate. The note from Grace Hans (copied below) notes that Nicholas was interned on the Island of Principo with other Russian refugees. They cover poems, émigré life, politics in Revolution, drawings for children, pedagogy articles, cultural critics etc. in Russian language, including comical "preface".
There was a note on this 'Presented to Hans Collection by Mrs Hans, 23/6/1982. These magazines were compiled by Dr Hans while interned on the island of Principo in 1920 with other refugees leaving from Russia'.
