DescriptionPapers regarding HALCyon – a collaborative research project involving several UK cohort studies. Diana Kuh of the MRC National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD) was named as the principal investigator. It was originally funded through the New Dynamics of Ageing (NDA) programme, a joint initiative of five UK Research Councils.

This file includes:

- an application for Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funding entitled ‘A life course approach to healthy ageing: capitalising on the value of UK life course cohorts’;
- other papers related to the application, for example supporting statements from various organisations and charities;
- research proposals;
- presentation printouts;
- correspondence with the ESRC regarding the successful award and funding schedule;
- meeting notes and agendas;
- correspondence regarding contracts and finances;
- HALCyon contracts between the MRC and research institutions;
- applications from researchers to work with certain data sets;
- a booklet produced at the end of the project, entitled ‘HALCYon: Healthy Ageing across the Life Course: Capitalising on the value of UK life course cohorts’.
