Description | Correspondence regarding three separate requests from researchers for access to the data of the MRC National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD). These requests were for:
- Data about emotional disturbance and psychiatric illness between the ages of 15 and 26. This research culminated in the publication of the following academic article: Ian Berg and Ann Jackson, ‘Teenage School Refusers Grow Up: A Follow-up Study of 168 Subjects, Ten Years on Average after In-Patient Treatment’, The British Journal of Psychiatry, 147:4 (1985). A draft copy of the paper is included here. - Data about adults who don’t have children, in comparison to those who do. - Data about the social class distribution of tonsillectomy and appendicectomy. |
