DescriptionManuscript notes in three separate sections of the notebook.

The main section comprises observations on a variety of subjects including the death of children, female sexuality, the daily routine in sanitoria and working for the BBC, as well as various literary passages. Headed sections include 'Aldous Huxley', 'For and against novels in the first person', 'For an article on E. Waugh' and detailed content and lay-out for 'A Smoking Room Story'.

The second section is a monthly booklist for 1949 listing author, title and remarks.

The third section is entitled 'For Harrison, Son, Hill & Co. Statement of assets on the assumption of my dying during 1949'.
