| Description | Unsigned manuscript letter from Cyril Connolly to [Eric] Blair, originally enclosing another item, expressing the hope that EB would not be disappointed with his review of  '<i>Keep the Aspidistra Flying</i>', notifying him of his intention of mentioning it again in his final novel review for  '<i>The N[ew] S[tatesman]</i>, and offering him an "innings" with his own novel, '<i>The Rock Pool</i>'.  A postscript notes Anthony Powell to have been "much impressed" by  '<i>Keep the Aspidistra Flying</i>', and AP's intention of writing about it, (1f). |
