TitleOrwell and rowing boat, at Jura (II)
Date1946
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of George Orwell crouched next to a rowing boat on a pebble beach, taken at Jura. The only other person in the photo is a young girl in the foreground, Ann Attridge, daughter of Sally McEwan. McEwan was secretary at 'Tribune' magazine at the time, and appears to have taken this photo.

See the photo at ORWELL/T/4/A/6/15 for the original photo, which is much smaller.
See ORWELL/G/1/37/2 for a letter regarding Sally McEwan's visit.
