Description<p>Manuscript. Comprises telegram informing K Pearson he was Third Wrangler, a letter to W Pearson enclosing cheques for Karl's scholarship and B.A. prize (no longer appended), thanking Karl for a gift and talks of his fondness for <i>Die Meistersingers</i> by Wagner, subscription notice for a memorial engraving of Henry Bradshaw by Mr Herkomer, about making enquiries for an appointment for Karl in business houses but implores him to teach modern languages at King's College, Cambridge, asks on behalf of the College Council if Karl would serve as Elector to Fellowships and Scholarships in 1883-1884 (offer declined), a letter on 11 February 1886 informing of the death of Henry Bradshaw, about Bradshaw's obituary and enclosing a testimonial by Bradshaw for Karl in connection with Firth College, about arranging a memorial for Bradshaw, enclosing the scheme for a Supplementary Exhibition Fund, some queries arising from reading of Karl's "Socialism and Sex", on elections for a new Provost at King's College, on Karl's distress (relating to his broken engagement to Maria Sharpe), on pleasure at hearing of the resumption of their engagement, congratuating him on his marriage, on being made an Honorary Fellow of King's College, and criticises government for poor trade agreements during war time (1916), referring to a letter by V Magnus to Karl.</p>
<p>Also includes lists of letters from H Bradshaw to K Pearson with brief descriptions of contents. Bradshaw's letters were sent between Prothero and Pearson whilst Prothero wrote obituaries and his <i>Memoir of Henry Bradshaw</i> (1889). These lists appear to be in H Hacker's handwriting, and were likely made at a later date.</p>
