Description<p>Manuscript. Letters were found in one folder, and sub-divided into five bundles, each covering a range of dates. The letters have been described below in these groups.</p>

<p>Letters covering the period 1890-1891, thanking Fanny Pearson for her kind notes, on family news, on Karl and Maria's wedding, expressing her love for Karl in a letter from Norway and describing experiences on Honeymoon, suggesting a present for Karl and staying with the Thicknesses.</p>
<br></br>
<p>Letters covering the period April 1894 - December 1894, about Sigrid as an infant, taking photographs of Sigrid and Fanny together, about Karl's health and work, and about Karl's socialist principles being the reason for turning down gifts of money.</p>
<br></br>
<p>Letters covering the period February 1895 - August 1895, about benefit of Karl's work at UCL to his general well-being, an article in <i>Nature</i> by Sir Franics Galton on Karl's work titled "A new step in statistical science", on Fanny's distance from her children, Karl's influenza and J M Robertson's attack on his views, and about pregnancy with second child and not being able to nurse Karl through illness.</p>

<p>Letters covering the period August 1897 - April 1900, from Maria with Karl in Danby, on family matters and illnesses, on being pregnant with her third child (in August 1898), and childrens' thanks for letters and gifts.</p>

<p>Letters covering the period December 1900 - July 1905, on seeing Fanny and William with the children, news of children and seeing friends, about Karl's work and influence on others, particularly W F R Weldon who had been staying (in summer 1901), a Valentine's poem for Fanny, and letters from their holiday in East Ilsley, Berkshire, in 1905.</p>
