| Description | Loose papers inserted within the front cover consist of printed and manuscript ephemera, primarily of Maria Sharpe Pearson's notes on books read or transcribed poems, rough drafts of her own poems, poems received from friends and acquaintances, and press cuttings predominantly relating to poets and their works. The book contains press cuttings, some loose and some adhered to pages, on literary works with particular emphasis on poetry, and notes by Maria on poems, and extract from a letter from Karl Pearson to Sigrid Pearson. The book is dated April 1890 in Maria's hand, although some of the inserted material pre-dates the book. |
