Description | A lock of blonde hair attached to a note by Frances le Marchant dated 1902 describing it as "The Queen, Mary of Scotland's hair". The note states that the hair was given by King George III to Sir William Nicolay, an ancestor of le Marchant's, and by him to le Marchant's grandfather General Hurst. Sir William Nicolay was allegedly the son of Frederick de Nicolay, Principal Page to Queen Charlotte, wife of George III.
