Conference covered playgroup provision for children with disabilities, and other specialised needs. Reports include 'A new approach to the care of handicapped children', stories of groups set up for children with disabilities that were closed down in various areas, 'Day to day handling of some children with movement disorder or delay', 'Development in the young downs syndrome child'.
Notes from discussion groups include comment on provision for children who are deaf, socially deprived, non-communicating, autistic, have spina bifida, are hyperactive, blind and partially sighted. Also 'subnormality' [people assumed to have learning disabilities] hospitals, and family violence.
