Description | A book of minutes of the Investigations Committee of the Trades Advisory Council (TAC), covering meetings held at the Council's offices in London between 13 February 1945 and 1 February 1949. This minute book has been created by sticking copies of typed pages of minutes into a blank volume.
The minutes discuss the details of cases being investigated by the Committee. This minute book also includes a loose document, on the suggested procedure for membership expulsion.
The TAC described its aim as 'eliminating friction in industry between Jews and non-Jews'. It acted in the following ways in the cases:
- mediated in disputes involving manufacturers, trade associations, customers, and workers; - intervened where there were instances of antisemitism or discrimination against Jews; - intervened where there were actions by Jewish businesses or traders which the TAC thought would contribute to antisemitic sentiments.
It was the role of the Investigations Committee to investigate the details of cases. |
