Description | A bound volume of cases dealt with by the Trades Advisory Council (TAC). The cases are numbered 1 to 323, and have been added by sticking typed sections of text into the book. The pages have also been annotated in pen, giving the case number and the details of the organisations and individuals involved with the dispute.
In the text of some of the cases, the TAC describes its aim as 'eliminating friction in industry between Jews and non-Jews'. The TAC acted in the following ways in the cases detailed in this casebook:
- mediated in disputes involving manufacturers, trade associations, customers, and workers; - intervened in instances of antisemitism and discrimination against Jews; - intervened where there were actions by Jewish businesses or traders which the TAC thought could contribute to the formation of antisemitic attitudes. |
