TitlePress cuttings scrapbook, Vol. III: 'Anti-Fascist'
Date30 Apr 1937-23 Jul 1937
DescriptionA bound volume labelled ‘Anti-Fascist, Vol. III’. It is a scrapbook of newspaper cuttings, with each cutting stuck in place and annotated with the date of the article and the name of the newspaper. The majority of the cuttings in the scrapbook are from local newspapers from around the UK, although some are from national newspapers. There are some other annotations in the book to denote the topics involved in certain articles.

The articles in this scrapbook are critical of fascism, and they are mainly letters to editors that have been submitted in response to pro-fascist letters or a sympathetic article being printed in that paper. The articles cover the following topics:

- UK politics;
- the fascist movement in the UK, particularly Oswald Mosley and Margaret Collins;
- the anti-fascist movement in the UK;
- rising antisemitism in mainland Europe and in the UK;
- events in Spain at the time (the Spanish Civil War);
- the fascist powers at the time in Germany, Italy, and Spain;
- wages, trade, and economics;
- the role of the Catholic Church;
- the Soviet Union, and Communism.
