TitlePress cuttings scrapbook, Vol. VI: 'Anti-Fascist'
Date27 Sep 1937-4 May 1938
DescriptionA bound volume labelled ‘Anti-Fascist, Vol. VI’. It is a scrapbook of newspaper cuttings, with each cutting stuck in place and annotated with the date of the article and the name of the newspaper. The majority of the cuttings in the scrapbook are from local newspapers from around the UK, although some are from national newspapers. There are some other annotations in the book to denote the topics involved in certain articles. This book includes an index of newspapers at the back.

The articles in this scrapbook are critical of fascism, and they are mainly letters to editors that have been submitted in response to pro-fascist letters or a sympathetic article being printed in that paper. The articles cover the following topics:

- the rise of fascism in Europe;
- the fascist movement in the UK, particularly Oswald Mosley, the 'blackshirts', and Margaret Collins;
- the anti-fascist movement in the UK;
- rising antisemitism in the UK and in mainland Europe;
- Germany and its colonies;
- the role of religion;
- Palestine and Israel;
- the Soviet Union, and Communism.
