AdminHistory | 'TLRP's Strategy for Thematic Development
'Thematic analysis added value to TLRP's research. Our work was carried out through sequential project phases supplemented by successive thematic initiatives. As a coordinated programme we attempted to maximise the contribution which each research project made to the whole TLRP effort'.
'The main purposes of thematic activities were to synthesise research from across and beyond TLRP and progressively deepen our understanding of the key issues'.
'We aimed to maximise cross-Programme analysis and learning as TLRP progressed'.
'Each member of the TLRP directors' team was responsible for selected cross-Programme issues and themes, and the team addressed core themes collectively. It also liaised with a wide range of UK government agencies and user organisations to support the wider development of teaching and learning research'.
'Major integrative products - by the end of TLRP, we made public contributions in relation to three overarching themes:
1. Key findings and principles for teaching and learning across the lifecourse (an initial attempt to derive evidence-informed pedagogic principles applicable to all sectors is available here) 2. The application of research and learning to policy and practice 3. The development of teaching and learning research within the field of education'
